Unlike the all-metal Brava, the June looks more like a traditional toaster oven, due mainly to the fact that its door is glass, so you can peer in and see what you’re cooking without having to open it. Now that I've had my June Intelligent Oven for almost two years, here's what I think about it. You start out by cooking bacon on the oven’s aluminum tray, and then halfway through, you have to pull out the tray, crack an egg in one corner, and place the bread and cheese in another corner, and let it continue cooking. But for now theyâre limited, and they donât always get it right. June Oven Review The Good The newest version of the wifi June Intelligent Oven has the ability to recognize even more foods due to its built in camera and software. The June’s interior is 1 cubic foot in size, large enough to fit a 16- x 12-inch pan. I chose the former, and 12 minutes later, it was ready. After spending more than 30 hours testing the June Oven, weâve concluded that itâs a decent countertop oven when used manually, and its built-in camera and cooking programs make it more fun to use than a regular toaster oven. The camera is fun to use, but it doesnât make cooking easier. The Smart Countertop Oven, released by the corporation’s sub-brand WLabs, is similar in functionality to the June oven, but $200 more expensive, with a sticker price of $799. June also has a partnership with Whole Foods, so if you buy prepackaged food from that store, the oven will know how to cook it. At this writing the current June Oven costs $600; itâs significantly more affordable than the $1,300 first-generation June Oven but still very pricey, especially given that it failed to outperform a midrange convection toaster oven in our tests. The thigh and breast meat was juicy and bursting with flavor, and the potatoes were perfectly tender, with a little char on the bottom where they were resting on the pan. Since the camera can identify only a limited number of specific, preprogrammed ingredients, it gets stumped often when trying to suggest cooking programs. While June allegedly attributes these few incidents to user error, the company has promised to update the smart ovens within the month to rectify this issue. For the June pizza, when the 10 minutes were up, we pressed the button on the oven’s screen to add an extra three minutes of cooking time.
